St. Xavier's College (1989-2017) :
Fr. Raj taught economics at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata from 1984 till he retired in 2016. He was appointed Rector of St. Xavier's in 1996. He served in that position for six years, then took over as Vice-Principal of the Commerce Department of the College in 1997 and held the position for twelve years.
On February 2, 2009, the Sesquicentenary year of the College, he was appointed Principal and Secretary of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. In 2011 St. Xavier's was accredited as the Autonomous College and was awarded a score of 3.53 out of 4. The College successfully underwent its autonomy review the following year.
Under Fr. Felix Raj’s committed leadership and democratic governance, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata secured the highest score of 3.77 CGPA out of 4 in the NAAC accreditation declared on 24 January 2017.
Fr. Felix Raj had initiated the expansion of the College academically and physically. He had also actively fostered research, and the research Centre received fresh wind beneath his wings.
As the President of the St. Xavier’s College Calcutta Alumni Association, he has achieved a global dimension for the association by starting chapters abroad in Australia, Bangladesh, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, UK, USA, Luxemburg, etc.
One of his dynamic initiatives is to connect with Xaverians all over the world and revive the Spirit of Xavier’s – Nihil Ultra (Nothing Beyond) and for him the pursuit persists.
